When R&S Grating had to quickly address difficult operating conditions created by the global pandemic, Ricoh Australia proposed moving to a cloud ERP solution and brought Crayon’s channel services team to the table as its preferred project partner.
R&S Grating is a longstanding manufacturer of trench and grating systems based in Melbourne, Australia. When the impact of COVID hit the international supply chain hard, the company’s legacy ERP system struggled to manage stock visibility, logistics and remote work requirements effectively. Costs started to skyrocket, team productivity was reduced and delayed deliveries caused friction with customers.
Ricoh Australia was engaged to develop a solution that would address these challenges, modernise R&S Grating operations and ensure the business was future-proofed against further disruption.
The proposed solution was a robust cloud ERP solution based on Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central, with additional features and functionality developed through integration with Microsoft Power Platform. Ricoh Australia brought Crayon’s channel services team to the table as its partner for the ERP implementation component, based on the proven success of its SmartStart implementation methodology for Business Central.
Together, the combined Microsoft platform know-how of the two organisations would deliver a SaaS solution able to provide real-time visibility into inventory, streamlined supply chain management, and seamless integration with third-party proof-of-delivery systems.
The project was initiated amidst Melbourne’s stringent COVID lockdown measures, which meant 100% of the solution implementation would be managed remotely. Ricoh Australia and Crayon delivered without a hitch, ensuring minimal disruption and maximum efficiency throughout the project, despite tight timelines and the obvious challenges presented by the pandemic conditions.
R&S Grating quickly realised increased business performance through significant improvements in operational efficiency and decision-making capabilities. Real-time dashboards and analytics facilitated better inventory management, order tracking, and financial insights, enabling the company to optimise costs and enhance customer service.
