Cloud-iQ was initially designed as a procurement platform for channel partners and Microsoft Channel Partner Programs such as SPLA and CSP. Over time, it has grown into a versatile tool, accommodating Crayon’s diverse customer base and enabling businesses to streamline procurement, management, and analysis of software and cloud services. It has been adopted by thousands of Crayon customers and partners worldwide.
This blog post explores the benefits of Cloud-iQ, the work Crayon is doing to modernize the platform, which will be ready in early 2025, and the launch of the Early Adopter Program that invites customers and partners to shape the platform’s future.
A platform built for modern businesses
Since its inception over 12 years ago, Cloud-iQ has been at the forefront of procurement innovation as we have continuously added new features. However, as Crayon expanded to more than 40 countries with thousands of customers and partners, the platform’s initial simplicity and speed became fragmented. Recognizing this, Crayon has embarked on an ambitious modernization initiative to rebuild Cloud-iQ from the ground up, focusing on agility, innovation, and user experience.
The new Cloud-iQ will not only simplify operations for partners but also introduce seamless functionality for end-customers, enabling easy management of subscriptions, resources, and vendor relationships.
In recent months, Crayon has embarked on a comprehensive modernization effort, reshaping our operations from the ground up based on valuable feedback from our customers and partners. Following the acquisition of rhipe (in APAC, three years ago) and its platform PRISM which is being deprecated, we have merged the Crayon and rhipe engineering hubs working on the procurement platforms to develop version 3 of Cloud-iQ.
As an example, the platform has integrated features such as Billing Sync – a capability particularly for partners. It is a reimagined invoicing solution originally derived from PRISM Connect. Billing Sync has already been adopted by nearly 100 partners, streamlining invoicing processes and automating repetitive tasks. This capability underscores Cloud-iQ’s emphasis on efficiency and partner success.

The next-generation Cloud-iQ platform is not just a visual overhaul – it represents a comprehensive rethinking of how procurement and management systems can operate to reflect user requirements of being “easy, efficient, and effective.”

- Powerful insights and reporting: Cutting-edge reporting capabilities provide actionable intelligence for businesses to optimize software and cloud expenditures, making budgeting and resource allocation more strategic.
- Seamless integration with major vendors: The platform continues to support Adobe VIP Marketplace, AWS, Google Cloud, and Microsoft CSP, with robust billing and reporting features.
- A modern SaaS delivery model: Crayon will roll out enhancements and updates monthly, ensuring that the platform remains aligned with user feedback and market demands.
Cloud-iQ Early Adopter Program
The beta phase marks the beginning of a continuous improvement journey, where user input will drive ongoing innovation. The Cloud-iQ Early Adopter Program launches this month, it reflects Crayon’s commitment to building a customer-first platform. And, by inviting real-world input early in the development process, Crayon ensures that the new Cloud-iQ aligns with the needs of the businesses and partners who rely on it daily.
Participants will play a critical role in refining the platform for broader release. Their feedback will directly influence the functionality, usability, and overall performance of the next-generation Cloud-iQ.
They will have the unique opportunity to test and provide feedback on the platform’s beta features, they will:
- Test core features: Experiment with new tools like subscription and license management for Microsoft CSP, and explore advanced BI reporting functionalities.
- Shape the platform’s evolution: Provide feedback directly to the product team, ensuring that user needs are front and center in the development process.
- Enjoy seamless dual-platform access: Use the beta version alongside the current Cloud-iQ application, ensuring continuity while exploring the new features.
Crayon’s approach ensures a smooth transition by gradually introducing features and incorporating feedback at every stage.
